How to Add Signature to Gmail Messages

If you respond to more than couple of mails every day, it makes little sense to manually append signature to all your outgoing mails. For such cases it is recommended that you compose and save a default signature template for your Gmail account.  Gmail will automatically insert this signature at the bottom of every message you send.

How to Create Signature in Gmail

Step 1: Sign in into your Gmail Account.

Step 2: Click the Gear Icon on top right hand corner of the page and Select Mail Settings .

Step 3: In the General Tab, Scroll down to find Signature Option. Compose and add your signature to box.  The box comes with a WYSIWYG editor so that you can easily tweak the signature the way you like. You can chose colours, add images etc.

Step 4: When you are done , click the Save Changes to save your changes.

1: What makes an Ideal Signature?

There is nothing such as an ideal/perfect signature. People include different things in their email signature. You can include your full name, your website, company, phone number, address, favourite quotation, social bookmarking links etc.  It is recommended to keep your signature under five lines to make it less obtrusive.
